Trucker Jobs in New Mexico

Jobs 1 to 12 of 445

Seeing one of the largest indigenous Native American populations in the country, New Mexico has retained its heritage despite a recent explosion in expanding its prosperous industries. Roads truly changed the face of the state following The Great Depression, with a huge influx of Americans clamoring to the area. New Mexico is the third in the country for producing natural gas and crude oil. Additionally, television programs such as Breaking Bad have made the state a newly popularized filming location. As a major intersection and corridor to Mexico, trade and migration have added to the importance and traffic on the roads connecting the two countries. In recent years, a large state-wide initiative has been made to improve many of the state’s so-called structurally deficient bridges and roadways.

New Mexico: New Mecca for Truck driving Jobs

Perfectly placed in the midst of the nation's growing states (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Utah) and a crossroads of excellent highways direct to Canada, Mexico, east coast, west coast or the Midwest, New Mexico is the ideal Mecca for truck driving. With energy and natural resources, as well as agriculture and aerospace technology making up the industries of its reviving economy, New Mexico is a thriving state depending more on trucks everyday. It is also one of the largest states with the lowest population per mile, opening the roads for efficient transport in and out.

New Mexico

Already, trucks are responsible for transporting 94 percent of the total manufactured tonnage within the state and 88 percent of its communities depends on truck drivers for the essentials of their every day lives. Adding the economic growth happening in New Mexico and nationwide, these percentages are only getting higher and the demand for truck drivers in New Mexico is accelerating by the day. Currently New Mexico is home to 5,287 trucking companies providing the 46,313 jobs or one out of 17 jobs in the state. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics reports an average truck driver makes an annual average salary of $35,114 and only expected to increase as employers are beginning to compete in retaining drivers.

In addition to some of the most ideal highways and being one of the most accessible centre points to so many states, New Mexico shares the mandate of other truck-friendly places; putting truck driver safety first. This includes the Sharing the Road Program that has professional drivers out educating communities of motor vehicle drivers about sharing the road with commercial trucks to reduce the number of accident fatalities. The New Mexico Trucking Association is also invested in and committed to improved commercial driver training and advanced safety technologies as well.

If this is enough to convince you that New Mexico is a great place to start looking for trucking driving jobs, then you've already found them...simply by finding us. TruckDrivingJobs.com has the most current, comprehensive job listings for all of New Mexico state and while Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe are the cities with the most truck driver jobs, there are all types of positions all over the state and one specifically meant for you. All you need to do is customize your own list of criteria and credentials. Are you more concerned about earning higher pay or the type of job that would allow you to get home to your family each night? What are your qualifications and experience? Would you be willing to upgrade your certification to increase your options and earning potential?

While more and more trucking companies are offering paid training to inexperienced drivers, the law requires every truck driver has a Commercial Driver's license in New Mexico. In addition to required medical certification and a clean regular driving record, the state requires all CDL holders to be at least 18 years old and 21 years old for truck driving interstate.
