Trucker Jobs in Washington

Jobs 1 to 13 of 2,210

Much like its neighboring state of Oregon, Washington state has persevered in the 20th and 21st centuries by hanging on to the traditional business practices and exports associated with traditional industries and agrarian farming practices and embracing an extensive technology corridor. Perhaps Washington State’s most notable resident, Bill Gates, arguably put the state on the map towards the latter part of the last century by way of global innovations through the Microsoft Corporation. In terms of transportation, Washington state has the most extensive ferry system route in the United States. Major mountain passes coupled with inclement weather often sees a great deal of road closures in the state in the winter month, providing unique logistic challenges for drivers.

Washington: Natural Beauty and New Opportunity for Truck drivers

Home to St.Helen's, the Cascades, Puget Sound and endless beauty along the Pacific coast, Washington is Mother Nature at its best with plenty of industry and great opportunity to offer, especially now for truck drivers.

Washington

Bordered by Idaho, Oregon, the Pacific Ocean and the Canadian province of British Columbia, Washington's proximity to other major US cities, shipping ports and the Canadian border make it ideal for transporting domestic and international exports. With lush forests covering much of its rugged terrain, the state leads the US in lumber producing and holds first place in apples, lentils, peas, pears, raspberries, cherries, and spearmint oil. Livestock is a major source of its farming revenue and salmon, halibut and bottom fish provide a lucrative commercial fishing industry as well. Washington also has a strong manufacturing industry, with aircraft, missiles, shipbuilding, food processing, metal products, chemicals, and machinery being the main products.

With many different industries to bring Washington out of the recession and resume its thriving economy, the state relies on the trucking industry as its main source of transporting all of its products. In 2010, trucks transported 82 percent of total manufactured tonnage in Washington or 901,205 tons per day and with the economy much stronger now, the amount of tonnage is growing higher. The bottom line for the economy is more trucks needed to transport more products and the challenge has become hiring drivers.

In 2011, The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the trucking industry in Washington provided 127,140 jobs, or one out of 18 in the state. It also reported the total wages paid out by the industry exceeded $6.4 billion, with an average annual trucking industry salary of $50,451. Those figures not only reflect that trucking is big business in Washington, it also indicates just how well truck drivers can do in that state, earning a higher salary than truck drivers in other parts of the country and much higher than the overall national average.

Washington is one of the best places to work as a truck driver and right now is the best time to find a job there. Trucking companies are hiring truck drivers more than ever and they are paying better than ever too. While the cities with the most truck driver jobs include: Seattle, Spokane, and Tacoma, Washington needs truck drivers in all parts of the state and you don't have to be there to find the jobs either. Like everyone else in today's world, the trucking industry has advanced to the efficiency of Internet technology and TruckDrivingJobs.com is the on-line truck stop where all the best companies and truck drivers meet. All you need to do is go on-line and TruckDrivingJobs.com provides you with the most up-to-date job openings from all over Washington State.
